"The future of the automotive sector lies not in building low-cost mini-electric cars, but rather in stopping the absurd ban on combustion engine vehicles by 2035 to preserve Europe’s freedom and technological sovereignty". ECR Vice-President Juraj Droba will lead CoR work on the Commission's 80 billion euro infrastructure programme

ECR Vice-President Juraj Droba has been appointed rapporteur of the opinion on the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme for the 2028-2034 period. The plan is part of the next Multiannual Financial Framework proposed by the European Commission last July.

ECR Member Lorenzo Galligani today presented his working document on the "Single Market Strategy" at the Commission for Economic Policy's (ECON) meeting. The opinion will be framed within the Single Market Strategy presented by the European Commission last May. ECR members secure appointments on crucial files shaping Europe's future preparedness

Two members of the ECR Group in the European Committee of the Regions will lead the work on initiatives that fall under the Preparedness Union agenda of the EU: an EU Stockpiling Strategy and a Medical Countermeasures Strategy. Both are designed to improve access to essential goods for European citizens and societies, businesses and economies – ensuring continuity of essential goods and lifesaving medical supplies at all times, in particular during crises such as major energy blackouts, natural disasters, conflicts or pandemics.

ECR 1st Vice-President Ortyl stresses need for investment in defence at CoP meeting in Denmark

In the Conference of Presidents (CoP) meeting held in Copenhagen in the framework of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU, ECR 1st Vice-President Władysław Ortyl underlined how crucial is to "invest in defence for border regions, especially during times where we are confronted with growing threats from the East".
