Automotive Regions Alliance gathers in Monza urging early review of CO2 regulation for cars

The Automotive Regions Alliance (ARA) met today in Monza, Italy, which saw the adoptiong of a declaration that calls for a more gradual approach to the energy transition, and for an earlier review, already in 2025, of the regulation setting CO2 emission performance standards for new cars and vans. This would provide European automakers with sufficient time to adjust to the transition. The ECR Group was represented by President Marco Marsilio, who delivered a keynote speech, and members Roberto Ciambetti, Matteo Bianchi and Elia Delmiglio.

Pavel Branda calls to step up efforts to remove obstacles to cross-border regions' emergency services

Adopted in today's CoR plenary session, the opinion notes that in extraordinary large-scale crises, cross-border cooperation among emergency services is relatively smooth thanks to EU legislation and inter-state agreements. However, the rapporteur pointed to the complications encountered by everyday cross-border cooperation among rescue services such as "legal and administrative barriers, financial issues, and technical obstacles, such as communications systems".
