On 8-9 October voters were called to the polls in Czechia to elect the 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies. With the ANO party of Prime Minister Andrej Babiš suffering a defeat, the three-party Together (Spolu) coalition won the vote. 

ECR President, Marshal Władysław Ortyl, sent congratulations on behalf of the ECR Group in the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) to Mr Petr Fiala, Leader of Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and Together (SPOLU) coalition candidate for prime minister.

Two of our ECR Czech members including Vice-President Oldřich Vlasák and member Dan Jiránek are also ODS members. Mr Vlasák is Councillor of the City of Hradec Králové while Mr Dan Jiránek serves as a Councillor of the City of Kladno.
