In today's ECR Group meeting, traditionally held before each CoR plenary session, Ms Anna Magyar was nominated as Vice-President of the ECR Group in the CoR. A long-standing member of the European Committee of the Regions, Ms Magyar is also a former Member of the Hungarian Parliament and currently serves as Member of Csongrád-Csanád County Council in Hungary.

Speaking in the meeting, Ms Magyar said: "I am pleased that we are part of the ECR Group and that together we represent the conservative positions in the Committee of the Regions. Our voice must be heard!"

Other nominations also took place in today's group meeting, including the election of Mr Ádám Karácsony (responsible for International Affairs in the County Council of Pest Megye in Hungary) as ECR Coordinator in the SEDEC Commission with Mr Guido Castelli (Regional Minister of the Marche Region in Italy) taking on the role of Deputy Coordinator. Ms Barbara Hegedűs (Deputy Mayor of Veszprém in Hungary) will now serve as ECR Deputy Coordinator in the CIVEX Commission.
