On Friday 11 February, ECR President Władysław Ortyl, Marshal of Podkarpackie, addressed the European Commission's representative at the 12th meeting of the Commission for Territorial Cohesion Policy and EU Budget (COTER). The main topics of the meeting included issues related to EU's cohesion policy and the Recovery and Resilience Fund (RRF).
Speaking in the debate, Mr Ortyl referred to the new regional programme of Podkarpackie region: "Our regional programme, European Funds for Podkarpackie, is being drawn up. We have received more resources and funds than in the previous financial perspective, despite the fact that Poland has lost 10% of its cohesion policy funding. More than 11 000 people took part in the consultation of the programme, so the final version will have a strong social input. We want society, entrepreneurs and local and regional elected representatives to know it well and implement it quickly."
In his statement, President Ortyl also referred to the Polish National Recovery and Resilience Plan: "The National Recovery Plan is important for us. We want it to be approved by the European Commission as soon as possible. As local and regional elected representatives, we are ready to implement it, we have projects and we look forward to put them in practice."
A debate on the state of play of cohesion programming and the application of the partnership principle was held with the participation of Marc Lemaître, Director-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) of the European Commission.
