Conservative Presidents of Polish regions and mayors held an exchange of views with the European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski to discuss the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and to express support for measures to ensure food security in the European Union.

During the meeting, the Commissioner stressed the diversity of Europe's agriculture means that a dialogue with Member States based on national strategic plans, to which LRAs contribute, is the most effective way forward for cooperation with Brussels

ECR's First Vice-President Władysław Ortyl spearheaded the delegation of regional presidents, which also included Marshals Witold Kozłowski, Grzegorz Schreiber, Jarosław Stawiarski, as well as mayors Paweł Grzybowski and Robert Kościuk.

"This meeting is a confirmation of our alignment on many important issues related to agricultural policy, especially the fact that local markets and local sales are the best way to ensure food security in every European territory" stressed the President of the Podkarpackie region.

The Members also invited the Commissioner to future events focusing on the strategic dialogue on the future of agriculture in their respective regions (Łódzkie, Lubelskie, Małopolska and Podkarpackie).
