The ECR Group in the European Committe of the Regions is saddened and shocked by the passing away of its Vice-President Oldřich Vlasák, Councillor in Hradec Králové.

Mr Vlasák was a committed member of the ECR Group in the CoR. Prior to that, he was Vice-President of the European Parliament (2012 – 2014), the first Member of the ECR Group to be elected in this function.

He was Member of the European Parliament for ten years (2004-2014) where he acted as coordinator of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) in the Committee for Regional Development. Mr Vlasák also served as Vice-Chairman of the Intergroup Urban.

His work, contribution and ideas will be missed. We send our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
