During its constitutive meeting in Brussels, the ECR Group in the CoR has re-elected Marco Marsilio (Italy) as President. Władysław Ortyl (Poland) has been re-elected First Vice-President. The Vice-Presidency will be held by Juraj Droba (Slovakia), Anna Magyar (Hungary) and Dagmar Škodová Parmová (Czech Republic), with Ilpo Heltimoinen (Finland) as Treasurer. President Marco Marsilio commented:  "The ECR Group in the CoR reaffirms today its strengths and values. We are the political group of realism and common sense, a political force that brings together local and regional authorities that listen to the real concerns of people. We are committed to a more prosperous, secure and decentralised Europe. With the new mandate of the CoR, we are ready to start our work with renewed enthusiasm to make the voice of conservative local and regional leaders heard in Europe".  

First Vice-President Władysław Ortyl stated: 

"Today, we maintain the commitment of our Group towards making Europe strong at regional and local level for the benefit of all Europeans. As experienced regional presidents, councillors, and mayors we offer common-sense solutions that pave the way for more effective EU policies. We step into the new CoR mandate with a renewed sense of determination, eager to continue delivering tangible results and to represent the interests of citizens who have entrusted us with their confidence". 

The Group brings together presidents of regions, mayors, councillors and other local and regional government representatives bringing the total number of both full and alternate members to 58 from: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden.
