ECR President Marsilio meets Commissioner Tzitzikostas to defend automotive sector

ECR Group President Marco Marsilio today met with the European Commissioner for Transport Apostolos Tzitzikostas to discuss the automotive crisis and present the key demands of the sector. "Today I had a very fruitful meeting with Commissioner Tzitzikostas with whom I shared the example of the city of Atessa, home to a carmaker factory leader in the production of light commercial vehicles that employs thousands of workers, but which is experiencing a massive decline in production and sales because of the new rules and the drastic shift to electric vehicles", said President Marsilio.

ECBP President Pavel Branda chairs annual meeting of European Cross-Border Platform in Gorizia

ECR Member and President of the European Cross-Border Platform Pavel Branda chaired the annual meeting of the ECBP, which took place in in Gorizia and was hosted by President of the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia and ECR member Massimiliano Fedriga. The city of Gorizia is the first cross-border European Capital of Culture together with Nova Gorica. ECR member Roberto Ciambetti spoke at the panel on "Resilient borders", and the meeting included high-level participation, including the keynote address by Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President for Cohesion and Reforms of the European Commission.

Bianchi's opinion on EU-Switzerland partnership adopted by CoR

The opinion "Enhancing the territorial dimension of the EU-Switzerland relationship" by ECR rapporteur Matteo Bianchi has been adopted by unanimity during the October plenary of the European Committee of the Regions. The President of the State Council of the Canton of Ticino (Switzerland), Norman Gobbi, was invited as guest speaker for the debate, during which Bianchi underlined how this was a testament to the quality of the dialogue established and an encouragement to continue with determination on a shared path.
