The European Conservatives and Reformists are happy to welcome Ms Luisa Piacentini to our Group in the European Committee of the Regions. Ms Piancentini has recently been nominated as a CoR Alternate for Italy.

Coming from the small town of Marano Equano in the Aniene valley in Italy, Ms. Piancentini has been noted as a fervent defender of the local interests of her own community, speaking out against many measures that came from centralised institutions and often overlooked the well-being of smaller and more peripheral localities. 

In 2019 Ms. Piancentini was appointed as the Vice-President of the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) in the Lazio region. This organisation serves to facilitate the communication and cooperation between the administrations and governments of the province of Lazio, the city of Rome, and the many smaller communes in the province. 

Ms. Piacentini is a member of the Fratelli d'Italia party. Other FdI Members of the ECR Group in the CoR are Mr Guido Castelli, Regional Minister of Marche, and Mr Marco Marsilio who will become President of the ECR CoR Group at the end of June, and whose region of Abruzzo is closely bordered by Ms. Piacentini's own town of Marano Equano.
