Marshal Ortyl questions Brussels' approach to rule of law in a debate with Commissioner Jourová

First Vice President Władysław Ortyl criticised the EU institutions for failing to respond to events in France and delaying the payment of funds to Poland. While debating with Commission's Vice-President Věra Jourová in Brussels, he also called for unity at all EU levels in the face of hostile foreign interference.

Air Quality Directive raises significant concerns

During the last plenary session before summer recess, one very contentious opinion on the Air Quality Directive was presented to CoR members for adoption. Representing the ECR Group during the debate was Mr Roberto Ciambetti and ENVE Commission member, who has on several occasions, reiterated that the "very ambitious targets in such a short time is totally unfeasible".

Conservative local and regional leaders, led by President Marco Marsilio in the ECR Group within the European Committee of the Regions, strongly condemn the recent incidents of violence and vandalism that have occurred in various parts of France which saw city halls and a mayor's family home attacked, hundreds of police and firemen injured, infrastructure damaged as well as significant landmarks vandalized.
